History

Real estate in Trussville is located in Jefferson and St. Clair counties. Trussville is a suburb of Birmingham that had a population of nearly 20,000 during the 2010 census. The area got its name from the first European settler to ever establish residence in the area, William Truss. He came to the area via the Georgia Road along with his two brothers. They built a grist mill there along the Cahaba River in 1821. Since that time, the area remained an agricultural one all the way up until after the Civil War when the Alabama-Chattanooga Railway was established there.
